Bird Watching

I love the idea of going on a tour of bird watching in Costa Rica and feeling you have to go to a certain spot. Yes, there are surely places where you will want to visit to offer a higher possibility of seeing certain species on your list but birding can be done almost anywhere in Costa Rica.

Costa Rican Resource thinks there is nothing more important in a birding tour than the actual hotel you are staying at. Depending upon where you stay will depend on how many species you get marked off your list. Second to the hotels we believe your guide is just as important when wanting to see the different species and with over 850 different ones in Costa Rica, it is not everyone that can give you an in depth knowledgeable birding experience in Costa Rica. I can assure you when we assign you Jheudy, Erik, or Diego onto your birding tour you will be amazed and leave Costa Rica happy and enlightened!

It all depends on the species you are looking to see but some of our favorite places for birding in Costa Rica are around the Arenal Volcano area, Sarapiqui area,Turriabla area, just north of Jaco in Carara National Park, Monteverde, and Cerro dela Muerte. Yes, there are many more places to visit but this is just a quick break down of what could be an outstanding birding tour in just a week to ten days in Costa Rica.
