Hotel Villas Rio Mar, Costa Rica

Hotel Villas Rio Mar is perfect if you are looking for a very nice three star hotel. Hotel Villas Rio Mar is not located right on the beach but it is in walking distance. It is just outside the center of the quaint little surf town of Dominical. The hotel has beautiful little bungalows, a large pool, a spa, and a good restaurant. The service here is excellent and many day-tours are available. It should be noted that this hotel does not offer very large rooms but they make up for it with beautiful patios outside of each room with a sitting area and even an outside refrigerator.

What is different about this hotel compared to most hotels in the area of Dominical is that you do not have an ocean view nor are you even on the beach. You are located about 5 blocks from the waves and situated on a very nice property surrounded by the lush green rainforest-filled mountains. The river that comes curling down between these mountains is the Baru River and is the river the Hotel Villas Rio Mar is located on. This is a beautiful river that is excellent for swimming and even floating around in a kayak looking for some Costa Rica wildlife.

The Hotel Villas Rio Mar is quiet and landscaped beautifully to make you feel you are surrounded by the original jungle of the area. Your hike to the beach is flat and very easy and having the river nearby makes for a nice spot to wash off the salt-water. There are many places in the town of Dominical to go out to eat, yoga classes, or just browse some of the local shops. The Hotel Rios Villa Mar is located about three hours from the San Jose International Airport.

The Hotel Villas Rio Mar combines the beauty of the Pacific Ocean while being surrounded by nature on the banks of one of Costa Rica' most beautiful rivers. This area is also filled with many different adventures that can be operated in a half day which leaves plenty of time for the beach in the afternoon.
