Playa Puerto Viejo

Located on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica is the small flavorful town of Puerto Viejo. Here you will experience the full Caribbean culture as you walk the streets with a variety of international guests amid the local dreadlockRastafarian Afro-Caribbean culture.

The surfing at Puerto Viejo is second to none at the world class spot known as Salsa Brava. This surfing spot is located right off the main road and you can literally watch your buddies ride some of Costa Rica's most challenging waves while chilling in a local bar. The season for surfing Salsa Brava is from December to April.

Playa Puerto Viejo is located about 4 1/2 hours from the capital city of San Jose. There are many options of places to stay and a hopping nightlife for those looking to party a bit after a long day of surfing.
